Kata,
or formal exercise, is a powerful moving meditation practice as
vehicle for teaching balance, technique, posture, and breath
control. Kata and Karate is much like learning to dance in a
particular "style". learn the components individually,
then you combine them (choreograph) then you apply them in
performance. The "performance" in Karate means either
free sparring, pre-arranged sparring or an actual self-defense
situation.
The
"system" continues to evolve by addition and
interpretation of techniques should be noted that it is the goal
of the instructors to allow this evolution growth while not
consciously changing the traditional drills handed down from the
first "generation".
Private
Iessons and instruction are available for children
The Kata
Kata
or formal exercise, is the soul of most Karate Do. Perhaps Kata
is the Heart displayed in Sparring and in desperate situations.
Kata
consists of movements for conditioning, balance, posture, health,
self defense which the body accepts as programs.
Attention
to detail is critical in Kata study or the body does not remember
the appropriate responses.
